The Milkshake Song Angry Salad Album: Bizarre Gardening Accident (or self-titled debut depending on when you were introduced to their music). Transcribed For Acoustic Guitar By Eric Norcross based on notes by Bob Whelan And the acoustic performance for WCYY 94.3. www.EricNorcross.com Listen to the record for the strumming pattern of the intro & chorus (they are the same). I added some information at the bottom to give you more insight into how this tab came about. The Movement from G to Em7 to Cadd9 is relatively quick, while the D and G that come after this movement has a few strums to them. This movement is steady and should dictate the speed and rhythm that the vocals in the chorus are delivered. Special Chords: Em7: 022033 Cadd9: 023033 Intro: G Em7 Cadd9 D G G Em7 Cadd9 D G G Cadd9 Down and out when I used to walk the same way D Home from school G Cadd9 I hoped I’d see her and then when I didn’t D I was crushed, like the bully that stole my lunch G Cadd9 D Oh yeah, oh yeah Cadd9 G It seems so hard for me to do Cadd9 G To be myself when I’m with you D Dsus4 I’m with you, yeah G Em7 Cadd9 D G And she gave me, a milkshake and a kiss G Em7 Cadd9 D G I don’t need a whole lot more G Em7 Cadd9 D G And she gave me, a milkshake and a kiss G Em7 Cadd9 D G I don’t need a whole lot more than this Interlude: G Em7 Cadd9 D G G Cadd9 Take me back in time when I, I didn’t give fuck (darn) D About what I said or did G Cadd9 But when I did it, it was done and nothing more was less G Cadd9 D Oh yeah, oh yeah Cadd9 G It seems so hard for me to do Cadd9 G To be myself when I’m with you D Dsus4 I’m with you, yeah G Em7 Cadd9 D G And she gave me, a milkshake and a kiss G Em7 Cadd9 D G I don’t need a whole lot more G Em7 Cadd9 D G And she gave me, a milkshake and a kiss G Em7 Cadd9 D G I don’t need a whole lot more than this Solo/Break G Cadd9 D x4 G Em7 Cadd9 D G And she gave me, a milkshake and a kiss G Em7 Cadd9 D G I don’t need a whole lot more G Em7 Cadd9 D G And she gave me, a milkshake and a kiss G Em7 Cadd9 D G G Em7 Cadd9 D G I don’t need a whole lot more than this This chord/tab is based on an e-mail I received from the band back in 2000, with instructions on how they performed their acoustic version on the air via Portland’s WCYY radio station (could have been WMGX, I don’t really remember). I believe lead vocalist and guitarist Bob Whalen sent it, but I don’t have the print out anymore so I’m not positive. I haven’t played guitar in five years, so it took me some time to figure this out again. I even resorted to e-mailing the members of the band again but got no replies (no surprise, they’re no longer together). So if you guys have any ideas, I can always integrate any corrections later. Also, I don’t have the tab for the lead lick, so anyone out there wants to give it a shot, by all means!
