Tabbed By: Mike This is a tab for Gabe Bondoc's version of the classic Harry Connick Jr. arrangement. Video right this way --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3vp1k8wvw0 This is a great little jazzy tune that can be played with one guitar. I've tabbed out how he plays each of the chords in the video (more or less) so pay attention! Standard Tuning ********************************************************************* Chords Used: Gm9 F6add9 E6add9 F#6add9 e--------------------------------| B---------8-------7-------9------| G--10-----7-------6-------8------| D---8-----7-------6-------8------| A--10-----8-------7-------9------| E--------------------------------| Em7aug5 Ebm6 C13 e--8-------------------------| B--8-(13)----7---------10----| alternative positions in brackets G--7-(--)----5-(11)-----9----| D----(12)------(10)-----8----| A--7-(14)----6-(--)----------| E----(12)------(11)-----8----| Bm7 E9 Amaj7 Bbm6 Am7 D9 Gmaj7 Abm6 C11 e-----------------------|------------------------|--------| B--------7----5---------|--------5----3----------|---6----| G---7----7----6----6----|---5----5----4-----4----|---7----| D---7----6----6----5----|---5----4----4-----3----|---8----| A--(9)---7--------------|--------5---------------|--------| E---7---------5----6----|---5---------3-----4----|---8----| Fmaj7 Fm F#m6 C#m7 Dm9 E7* A7* e------------------------------------5---| B--1----1---------5-----5------------0---| G--2----1----2----4-----5------7-----6---| D--2---------1----------3------6-----5---| A-----------------4-----5------7---------| E--1----1----2-----------------------5---| ***************** EDIT ***************** To make this a bit easier to play I put a capo on the 1st fret (still using the exact same chord positions so the numbers here would all shift down by one to be relative to the capo). This lets you play the low E string open (because now it's an F) throughout the verse. It also let's you play the C11 in an open B position like so: C11* e---0----| B---0----| G---6----| D---7----| A--------| E---7----| *relative to capo 1 A little less stretching can go a long way. Merry Christmas! ********************************************************************* Intro: Play around between F6add9 and F#6add9. Cut with C11 just before the verse. e-------------------- ----| B--8---8--8---8--8-9-... --6-| G--7---7--7---7--7-8-... --7-| D--7---7--7---7--7-8-... --8-| A--8---8--8---8--8-9-... ----| E-------------------- --8-| Verse: **During the verse, he mostly just plays around between the F6add9 and Gm9 chords It's up to you how you want to jazz it up but basically he'll just hit a couple strings on the up stroke. This is just an example: F6add9 Gm9 F6add9 Gm9 ... e--------------------------------------------------11-... B--8---10---------10-----8---14---------10-----8---11-...
