Boom Forest
Wooden Heart
Standard Tuning
There weren't any tabs of this out there and it's such a great song that I just had to put one up. The chords
aren't too hard but the order is a little tricky so I may have missed a few here and there.
Also, I can't believe with a song this good that this guy isn't signed. But since Ultimate-Guitar doesn't
recognize the band I had to put it under Misc Unsigned Bands. Shame.
I don't know the proper names for the chords but this is what I mean when I show these things:
--------------------------------
G G/Em G/A G/D G/B G/Em*
e|--3--| |--3--| |--3--| |--3--| |--3--| |--3--|
B|--3--| |--3--| |--3--| |--3--| |--3--| |--3--|
G|--0--| |--0--| |--0--| |--2--| |--0--| |--0--|
D|--0--| |--0--| |--2--| |--0--| |--0--| |--0--|
A|--x--| |--2--| |--x--| |--x--| |--x--| |--2--|
E|--3--| |--x--| |--x--| |--x--| |--2--| |--0--|
The G/Em* he plays the E open at the top while keeping his finger on the second fret of the A string. I think
there are variations to what he plays but both sound fine to me.

VERSE 1
--------
G/D G/Em G/A G
As a young man I lived deep inside a forest
G/D G/Em G/A G
With a wooden heart to help me bide my time
G/D G/Em G/A G
You've heard stories like it a million times before this
G/D G/Em G/A G
But this is mine, this is mine
G/Em G/A G/D G
It's about a time when a man had felt he'd finally met his match
G/Em* G/A G/D G
She had lost her way while dancing in the shade
G/Em* G/A G/D G
And she told him if he'd carve her name into his wooden heart
G/Em* G/A G/D
She would stay, stay
--------
CHORUS 1
--------
G G/B G/Em*
But I lived inside a wooden heart
G G/B G/A
I couldn't, couldn't see the forest for the trees
G G/B G/Em*
But if I would come down for anyone
G/D G G/D G G/D G G/D G
It was she, it was she, it was she, it was she
--------
VERSE 2
--------
G/D G/Em G/A G
So the shadow dancer made a proposition
G/D G/Em G/A G
And my wooden heart was still em-petrified
G/D G/Em G/A G
I had lived alone for so long in that forest
G/D G/Em G/A G
That I could not bear to share it with a bride
G/Em* G/A G/D G
So I sent that girl away and all I gave her was a lie
G/Em* G/A G/D G
I said everything worthwhile would come in time
G/Em* G/A G/D G
And since she's gone away I swear I've never felt so alone
G/Em* G/A
Living in a wooden heart inside my mind
--------
CHORUS 2
--------
G G/B G/Em*
But I lived inside a wooden heart
G G/B G/A
I couldn't, couldn't see the forest for the trees
G G/B G/Em*
But if I would come down for anyone
G/D G G/D G G/D G G/D G
It was she, it was she, it was she, it was she
--------
VERSE 3
--------
G/D G/Em G/A G
For years I wandered nights inside the forest
G/D G/Em G/A G
Crying as her name would echo from the trees
G/D G/Em G/A G
Though years have past since last I left the forest
G/D G/Em G/A G
I can hear her dance in every shadow that I see
