Great track taken from the clashes last and largely unpopular album 'cut the crap' It is pretty much the same all the way through and once you get the rhythm right its easy. I have left it in standard tuning, you could transpose it, use a capo or retune your guitar but I think it works best in power chords so there really is no need. That said I've just tried it in open chords and it sounds okay so if you like open chords you could tune down to Eb, (giving you A E and B) Lyrics are hard to understand in places but I think I have them about right Please comment/rate KEYBOARD INTRO: Ab Eb Bb Ab Eb Fm Eb Bb VERSE 1: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb I hear a gang fight on a human factory farm Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Are they howling out or doing somebody harm Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb On a catwalk jungle somebody grabbed my arm Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Her voice spoke so cold it matched the weapon in her palm CHORUS 1: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, this knife of Sheffield steel Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, and this is how we feel BREAK: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb X2 VERSE 2: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Time on his hands, the freezing row of stones Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb He won't go for the carrot, they beat him by the pole Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Some sunny day, confronted by his soul Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb He's out at sea, so far he can't go home CHORUS 2: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, that I'm supposed to die for Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, we're never gonna cry no more VERSE 3: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Black shadow of the Vincent falls on a Triumph line Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb I got my motorcycle jacket but I'm walking all the time Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb A South Atlantic wind blows ice from a dying creed Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb I see no glory, when will we be free CHORUS 3: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, we can chain you to the rail Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, we can kill you in a jail BREAK: No Chords, then Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb VERSE 4: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Big British boots go kick Bengali in the head Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Police sit watchin', a newspapers been read Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Who dares to protest, after the attacker fled Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb Out came the batons and the British warn their selves CHORUS 4: Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, land of illegal dances Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, land of one thousand stances CHORUS 1 (repeat): Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, this knife of Sheffield steel Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England, and this is how we feel Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb This is England Ab Eb Ab Eb Bb (repeat chords to fade) This is England
