Okay, so the previous guy seemed to be on the right track here.  I wouldn't call this
exact, but it sounds pretty decent to my ears...

This is most likely played in CGDGBE, as is most or all of Slanted/Enchanted.  Drop your
low E two steps to a C (4 notes) by lowering its pitch until it sounds the same fretted
on the 9th fret as your A does open.  Then, drop your A one step to a G by lowering its 
pitch until it sounds the same fretted on the 7th fret as your D does open.  Or, use a
tuner.  You might have to anyway, because dropping the pitch and tension that much on 
the two strings will throw your guitar out of tune, and make everything sound crappy.

I'm tabbing Stephen Malkmus' parts.  The structure is Intro - Verse - Chorus - Verse -
Chorus - Bridge - Outro

Stephen Malkmus plays these chords with some gritty distortion, and Spiral Stairs plays
harmonics to get the chimey sound on top of it.  If anyone feels industrious enough to
tab those out, more power to you.  The G with an asterisk could possibly be an F# 
(4th/6th frets).  I'm not sure.

Let those higher strings ring out when you play the F, and go up into a C before you
play the chorus (either go up 3 frets from an A to the 10th and 12th frets, or play the
middle 4 strings on the 5th fret...).  **The 0s that you see are part of a G chord that 
the second guitar plays during the verse.  If you're playing it by yourself, it will sound
most like the song if you add those notes as tabbed.**

You can also play the C like this:

You could even play the bottom C string open in addition to those, but that might make
it sound a tad off.  It's probably easiest to mute it and the high E.


Bridge (If you can call it that... played over chorus chords):

You only need these notes on the one string.  It repeats twice.

Play the Intro again, and you're done.  Voila.  The hardest part is tuning your guitar
correctly, and keeping it in tune.  Otherwise it's a pretty basic song.
