I chose to transcribe this heart-breaking song in guitar player-friendly E.
Newman’s demo recording on the anthology mentioned above is in F (to play
along you’d have to use a capo 1st fret). The soundtrack recording is in Eb
(in this case you either tune down a half-step (D#-G#-C#-F#-A#-d#) and play in E
or you’d have to put a capo 1st fret and play in D (I included
this version below).
