If this is confusing then you can definitely get away with playing the traditional ska
rhythm played during the verses (in fact I've heard their guitar player do it this way
live). If you want to do this the progression is F for two bars, then Em for two, then F
for two, and then you end it by strumming G once right before the "you gotta hold your head
up high part".
