------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some Devil Live Intro - Dave Matthews ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Alex Flaherty E-mail: [email protected] Tuning: BA#DGBE Tempo: About 120 Bpm, but I guess it depends on how you tap your foot along to it. This is the intro the Dave does to open some devil. He uses a baritone acoustic, but luckily someone on a Dave Matthews tab fan site tabbed it out for us, and I haven't seen it anywhere else, so here. The E string is dropped to an ungodly B and the A string gets raised a half step to A#. The song is fingerpicked, and i prefer to let everything ring out as much as possible. Section A e |-----------------------------------------------------| x2 B |-----------------------------------------------------| G |-----------------------------------------------------| D |------5---4-----------------4--------------2---------| A# |---------------------1-------------1-------1---------| B |----0---0--------0------0------0-------0-------------| Section B part 1 is played twice, leaning into the slides of Section C, into Section B part 2. The only difference between part 1 & 2 is the slides in the last 2 bars. Here, i keep my middle finger on the B string, and use my pointer for everything else, until the ring finger is used to play 3 on the D string. Everything else is middle and pointer, otherwise you get your fingers twisted up. The notes with * above them are picked at the same time. I keep my middle finger the B string, and use my ring finger for everything except for the 5s on the D string, here I use my pointer, and just hammer on or pull off when it sounds good. I get the best sound when I play everything as one long slide, and let it all ring out as I move up and down the neck.
