Keep in mind this song is in Open D tuning with a capo on the 4th fret
Sounds to me like just about the whole song is played by striking the bass notes with the thumb,
and two middle strings with the index and middle fingers (or whichever you want).
To make it a little bit easier to follow along, I gave each "chord" a name based on the root note and which
ever fret is played on the middle D string for "D" chords, and which ever fret is played on the low A string
for "A" chords. You'll see them above the Intro tab.
Every piece he plays before the lyrics begin, is everything you need to play the song. So once you get the
hang of the Intro, hopefully the "chords" with the lyrics will make it easier to visualize.
