This is my version of "The Wind" by Cat Stevens. In my opinion, its a fantastically lovely short song that always makes me smile. [Intro:] Just the D chord with an A on the high e string. e|--------5-----------5-----------5-----------5----------------------------| B|--3-----------3-----------3-----------3----------------------------------| G|-----2-----2-----2-----2-----2-----2-----2-----2-------------------------| D|--0-----------0-----------0-----------0----------------------------------| A|-------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------| This is repeated for most of the song with slight variations. To lead into the chorus is a simple variation on the A chord. Instead of a hammer-on 2 to 3 its a pull off from 2 to 0 on the B string. This is noted in tab in the far right section of the "verse" [VERSE:] e|--------2-----3p2--0-----0--------0-------------|------------------------| B|----------------------3--------3-----3-----2h3--|--3-----2p0-------------| G|-----2-----2----------------0-----------2-------|-----2------------------| D|--0-----------0---------------------------------|------------------------| A|-------------------------------------0----------|--0---------------------| E|-------------------------3----------------------|------------------------| [Chorus:] This is more of a rough shell than the exact structure like the verse. I am only providing a slight tab to give an idea of some extra flare like accenting the bass notes. THE STRUMMING PATTERN IS NOT SHOWN IN THIS TAB. G A G A D Em G Em G e|-------3--------0--3--0--------2--0--------0--------3--------0-----------| B|-------3--------2--3--2--------3-----------0--------0--------0-----0-----| G|-------0--------2--0--2-----2--2-----------0--------0--------0-----0-----| D|-------0-----2--2--0--2--0-----0-----------2--------0--------2-----0-----| A|----2--2--0-----0--2--0-----------------2--2-----2--2-----2--2-----------| E|--3----3-----------3-----------------0-----0--3-----3--0-----0--3--------| A G A G A D Em G Em A e|--------------3--------0--3--0--------2--0--------0----------------------| B|-----2--------3--------2--3--2--------3-----------0-----3-----0-----2----| G|-----2--------0--------2--0--2-----2--2-----------0-----0-----0-----2----| D|-----2--------0-----2--2--0--2--0-----0-----------2-----0-----2-----2----| A|--0--------2--2--0-----0--2--0-----------------2--2--------------0-------| E|--------3-----3-----------3-----------------0-----0--3-----0-------------| G Then back to verse picking with a double hammer-on the b string. e|--------------2-----3p2--0-----0--------0--------------------------------| B|-----0----------------------3--------3-----3-----2h3p2h3-----------------| G|-----0-----2-----2----------------0-----------2--------------------------| D|-----0--0-----------0----------------------------------------------------| A|-------------------------------------------0-----------------------------| E|--3----------------------------3-----------------------------------------| The rest of the song is this just repeated. End on a D chord holding the A on the high e string. I hope this isn't confusing and sounds pretty good to you folks. Any suggestions or corrections can be pointed out in the comment box. All feedback would be appreciated. I'll post the lyrics at the bottom. -JIFIGZ- I listen to the wind to the wind of my soul Where I'll end up well I think, only God really knows I've sat upon the setting sun But never, never never never I never wanted water once No, never, never, never I listen to my words but they fall far below I let my music take me where my heart wants to go I swam upon the devil's lake But never, never never never I'll never make the same mistake No, never, never, never ************************************ | h Hammer-on | p Pull-off ************************************
