x------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MIDNIGHT FLIGHT - Yeti ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: John Jakobi Website: www.myspace.com/johnjakobi Tuning: Standard (EADGBe) This is my first attempt at transcribing a song, I am pretty sure some of the notes are but I think it comes close enough. I chose this song, because it is a really cool song back when I was a beginner, I got really mad because I could not find a decent tab to this one. You will have to figure out the timings yourselves, I should actually be practicing for concert, instead of transcribing this ;-) (And sorry for the long descriptions, I think this is an easy song to play, even for a so I tried to explain everything to make it as easy as possible) You need a band or a Boss RC-50 Loop Station for this song to be really fun to play... The bassline (I play it on guitar) is: e|-----------------------------| B|-----------------------------| G|-----------------------------| D|-----------------------------| A|------------2--0-------------| E|---0--3--2--------3----------|(Repeat 4 times, then go on with:) e|-------------------| B|-------------------| G|-------------------| D|-------------------| A|-------------------| E|--0--3--2--0--3----|(And then go back to bass riff one throughout most of the song, it a bit sometimes, but you should be able to figure that out yourselves, it sounds just cool without the variations) During the first verse, there are some sounds that sound like a synthesizer or I use harmonics (I think it comes close enough to the sound) on the 5th fret of the 1st string sth like: + + + + + + + + e|-5-5-------------5-5-----------5-5-----------------5-5-------------------| And then (without harmonics, also on the 1st string): e|-12-12\---| (Slide down to the top of the neck and numb the sound by releasing, but still touching string) After the slide from the 12th fret comes a chuck (numb all strings by touching and hit once) The first solo: e|----------------------------------------------------| B|----------------------------------------------------| G|----------------------------------------------------| D|-----------5--0--0h2-------------5--6p5--0--2--0h2--| A|--2--5--2-------------2--5--0h2---------------------| E|----------------------------------------------------| The first time the solo is played, it ends with this: e|-----------------------| B|-----------------------| G|--2/b9--b9--b9--9\-----| D|-----------------------| A|-----------------------| E|-----------------------|once again slide down all the way... The second time (played over the verse) it ends with something like: e|--------------| B|--------------| G|--/7--b9--7---| D|--------------| A|--------------| E|--------------| Sometime near the end, they start strumming the chords E, G, F#, and B over the bass I use this strumming pattern: E G F# B / / / * / / / * / / / * / / / * 1 & 2 & 1 & 2 & 1 & 2 & 1 & 2 & (I put '/' for the beats you hit the strings on and I put '*' for a chuck (numbing the and hitting them, I think it gives it a good percussion) I did not have time to figure out the long solo at the end yet, but when I have it out, I will add it, and maybe post this tab with the final solo as a guitar pro file. If you are using a loop station, try an egg shaker for percussion, it goes really well the guitar. Have fun! ************************************ | / slide up | \ slide down | h hammer-on | p pull-off | ~ vibrato | + harmonic | x Mute note | b Bend | pb Pre-bend | br Bend release | pbr Pre-bend release | brb Bend release bend ************************************
